Position Description:
The Janitorial associate is responsible for a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks that have a significant effect on safety, production and quality.
Position Responsibilities:
- Associate is responsible for keeping dust levels down and the plant in a clean and orderly state.
- Performs housekeeping and some general maintenance tasks.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Occasionally calls for maintenance as needed for tasks outside the scope of janitorial job responsibilities.
- Returns parts and tools to proper storage locations.
- Properly disposes of waste as specified.
- May be required to use various tools and machinery in performance of job tasks.
- May be required to do other duties as requested by coordinator or supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be able to wear proper personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to see clearly up to 40 feet for 8 hours.
- Must be able to adequately communicate with coworkers, Coordinator and Supervisor.
- Must be able to navigate up and down stair steps while bending and/or in awkward bodypositions.
- Must be able to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment.
- Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours in intervals of 3 hours or more.
- Must be able to perform awkward body positions when cleaning under machinery and in tight spaces.
- Must be able to grasp up tools and material for 8 hours.
- Must have full range of body mechanics and articulation.
- Must be able to reach up to 2 ½ feet.
- Must be able to grasp, lift, push, and pull materials and tools with up to 50 lbs. of force with both hands as needed for 8 hours at 2-3 hour intervals.
