As a Grounds Technician, you will:

• Maintain appearance and safety of parking lots and structures such as asphalt repair, concrete repair and replacement, grading rock lots and alleys, landscape grades and improvements, haul and supply area crews with the products and equipment to facilitate their work on campus.
• Participate in new construction and renovations of irrigation systems such as material selection decisions and purchases, technical decisions regarding system design and installation, and inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure all requirements have been met.
• Participate in snow removal and ice control efforts such as maintenance of sidewalks, handicap ramps, steps, drives, docks, streets, and parking lots.
• Operate and maintain hand and power equipment and landscape machinery such as tractors, snowplows, sprayers, trucks, loaders, and mowers.
• Plan, organize, and maintain records, schedule work, reserve equipment, prepare cost estimates, and maintain and resupply parts and equipment inventory for system construction and maintenance.

What you bring to the position (minimum qualifications):

• High school or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years prior experience in landscape construction or irrigation.
• Valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirement.
• Available 24/7 for snow and ice removal emergencies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.25 - $16.50 per hour
