Job Summary

Looking for experienced cook to prepare the quality, consistent meals Lucile’s Steaks and Spirits has served for 20 years. Wash, cut, cook, and store food items. Unload truck of food and supplies deliveries and track inventory. Uphold safe food handlers best practices. Perform other duties as assigned.

Activities and Responsibilities

• Prepares hot and cold food products. Assists in food preparation, stocking, and other food preparation as supervised by kitchen manager.

• Skilled at grilling, sauteing, frying, broiling, and other hot food preparation techniques.

• Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.

• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.

• Portions food products prior to preparation according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.

• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.

• Prepares items by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.

• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.

• Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.

• Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.

• Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.

• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.

Availability

• Schedule requires a mix of daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Tools & Technology

• Knowledge of restaurant equipment and appliances and housekeeping tools and supplies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Be 16 years of age or older.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.

• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

• Willing to work a flexible schedule.

• Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb staircases, and regularly lift boxes of up to 40 pounds.

• Positive, can-do attitude.
