Position Summary
Department: Marketing and Communications/Brand Services
Reports to: Senior Director of Brand Strategy and Services
Position type/hours: Full time/40 hours
Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 DOE
Location: USA, this position is remote, but applicants from the Denver, CO area or Traverse City, MI are preferred
The Graphic Designer works across the organization to provide various departments, programs, chapters and councils with the materials they require to stay on-brand while communicating both internally and externally. Helping to develop, maintain and implement an organization-wide visual identity will be a key part of the Graphic Designer’s first year on the job.
The Graphic Designer is a creative and imaginative graphic designer with passion for design in both the print and digital realms. From web pages supporting conservation programs and initiatives to print collateral and streamside interpretative signs, the Graphic Designer works closely with the Marketing and Communications team, volunteer leaders across the country as well as national project and program staff to provide strategic solutions to their needs and create impactful communications. This position will collaborate and manage relationships with many individuals across the organization, so top-notch communication and organizational skills are essential.
This position reports to the Senior Director, Brand Strategy & Support. This is a U.S. based remote-work position.
Requirements:Duties and responsibilities
- Designs and produces various marketing and communication materials
- Creates and produces a wide range of web products using Adobe Creative Suite, front-end WordPress/Gutenberg, HTML, CSS, responsive web design, e-mail, and others
- Works with Lead Web Developer to conduct applicable pre-launch user testing to ensure implemented designs meet user needs and brand experience expectations.
- Regularly interfaces with internal stakeholders to develop and execute creative plans and projects
- Thinking creatively to produce innovative ideas and concepts and developing interactive and print design
- Builds new posts, pages, PDFs and print documents under tight deadlines, while working within a well-defined design system
- Works with Lead Web Developer to identify, design and implement reusable web features
- Works with Volunteer Operations department to identify, design and implement reusable templates for chapter and council communications
- Adapt content to various platforms, such as blogs, websites, social media networks, and others as appropriate
- Implement editors’ feedback in timely manner
Qualifications
- Three to five years design experience
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to create compelling designs while working within brand guidelines.
- Understanding and familiarity with printing and production processes
- Knowledge of email marketing software such as Constant Contact or similar
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to meet exacting standards of quality and accuracy
- Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills; proficiency in the preparation and presentation of proposals, plans, reports, and documents
- Effective communication and organizations skills
- Experience working in a nonprofit environment, and familiarity with conservation and fishing preferred but not required
