PRIMARY SUMMARY:
Acts as a liaison between supervisor and general operators and assemblers. Assigns jobs and machines or work stations to operators and assemblers. Sets-up machines for operators, troubleshoots and repairs machine, monitors work for quality and quantity of production, and assists supervisor with production related issues

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists supervisor with assigning daily work to operators and/or assemblers, oversees; need for tooling, material, quality, and quantity of production.
  • Troubleshoots machining problems and makes repairs, writes work orders for machines requiring maintenance.
  • Assists operators in machine set-ups and interpretation of blueprints and Manufacturing Order (MO).
  • Provides verbal work instructions to operators and/or assemblers and verifies work to ensure conformance to quality standards.
  • Reports any safety violation, machining equipment problems or misusage, and non-conformance work to Supervisor for action including discipline.
  • Provides operators and/or assemblers with job training including the safe operation of equipment.
  • Reads blueprint or Manufacturing Order (MO) for product specification such as; dimensions, tolerances, number or parts to be formed, and tooling instruction on type tooling required.
  • Inspects product using calipers, micrometer, scales, templates, or other measuring instruments to verify conformance to blueprint or MO.
  • Refers all employee relations concerns to Supervisor.
  • Performs operator and/or assembly work as needed.
  • Attends all required job related training (internal and external).
  • Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures at all times.
  • Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
  • Seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
  • Suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
