It is with great excitement and long awaited anticipation that we can now share with you that Century Golf Partners, along with our investment partner HKI America, Inc. and the Yoo family, have acquired the Sports Club of Las Colinas, in Irving, Texas.

We are searching for our next General Manager for the Club. The professional must be a driven leader, have superior interpersonal skills, strong business acumen, excellent member relations skills, be an ultimate team player and exhibit a passion for growing the game and game improvement.

The Sports Club of Las Colinas is known for its expansive amenities including the golf facilities (36-holes), which includes the TPC Las Colinas championship course that was designed by Jay Morrish in consultation with Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw. Ranked among America’s leading venues, TPC Las Colinas and Cottonwood Valley are part of the comprehensive, award-winning Dallas Club and Resort. TPC Las Colinas proudly hosted the Byron Nelson Championship, an annual PGA TOUR event for 35 years and is an 18-hole, par 70 course measuring 7,166 yards from the championship tees. The members Private Club is an 18-hole, par 71 Cottonwood Valley golf course measures 7,120 yards.

The Sports Club also has one of the largest Club fitness facilities in the country with its 176,000 sq. ft. fitness complex boasting the ultimate balance of health and fitness programs with an incredible variety of equipment, programming, and training that will challenge the body and inspire motivation. The Club also includes a resort style swimming pool, tennis and pickle ball courts with premier teaching and activities for our Members. The world-class tennis staff provides a variety of programming that will help you develop your skills and enhance your love of the game. Four Cushion Extreme indoor surface courts and eight outdoor tennis courts ensure a generous schedule of year-round play.

PRIVATE CLUB GENERAL MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all golf course facilities, including operations, local sales management & promotions, food and beverage, 176,000 sq. ft. fitness facility, racquet sports, merchandise retail, course maintenance, human resources, with a strong focus on quality standards and service delivery. Candidates must exhibit exceptionally strong leadership, member relations, financial management, membership promotion, and team member development skills. They must have the ability to create a partnership with the Members while running the Club like a business. They must have experience in partnering with committees including the Member Board of Governors and the ability to keenly focus on growing/maintaining the Clubs membership roster through the process of Membership by Invitation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive management experience in the Private Club industry
  • Four-year Hospitality and/or Business Management Degree preferred

  • Experience in the development and management of annual budgets, business plans and capital improvement projects, and a keen ability to properly structure and efficiently allocate labor and expense resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for gaining and retaining Members. Positive net dues!
  • Partners with Members through an effective “Membership by Invitation” enrollment strategy.
  • Responsible for executing the membership sales strategy and living the culture of our Private Club “Core fundamentals” of membership (internal).
  • Leads the Club’s Membership sales team in the execution of an effective enrollment and connection process for all new members.
  • Collaborates with the Regional support team in developing plan which aims to add more prospects to our pipeline for the sales team.
  • Collaborates with the Regional Team on the setting of the monthly sales goals and measuring the invitations created by our sales people.
  • Partners and leads an effective Board of Governors and Ambassador Committee to fulfill its mission of taking ownership of the Club’s membership roster and building an environment conducive to “friends inviting friends” into membership.
  • Leads the coordination of an effective calendar of events that meet member needs, drive revenues and causes prospects for membership.
  • Responsible for building on-going and fluid game plans with their management team properly balancing the fulfillment of the member experience and meeting the needs of the budget.

POSITION FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Direct, manage, and coordinate all Club operations.
  • Manage and oversee work of all department managers including creation and enforcement of work schedules.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and developing managers reporting to General Manager.
  • Coach, counsel and discipline staff when necessary. Monitor performance regularly. Terminate staff members when necessary.
  • Train new staff members and ensure they have an understanding of Arnold Palmer Golf Management culture, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the company’s standards of service and quality are met.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Club’s annual business plan and budget.
  • Coordinate activities of operations, accounting, and risk management to affect operational efficiency and economy.
  • Responsible for promoting good public relations and professional image.
  • Conduct and/or attend meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among staff members and promote morale, productivity and efficiency.
  • Prepare and distribute reports as required.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Requires constant (40% - 70%) walking, standing, stooping, grasping, reaching, and kneeling. Requires ability to lift objects weighting in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Long hours sometimes required. Ability to work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to extreme heat/humidity, cold weather, and turf elements. Some travel throughout the community and to attend one Private Club conference and one General Manager meetings per year.
