Bushel Boy Farms is looking for a Packhouse Lead for our indoor greenhouse in Mason City Iowa.

The PH Lead reports directly to the Pack House manager and works in collaboration with our Sales, Customer Service, Shipping/Receiving, and Greenhouse team. This is a hands-on role requiring an individual that is a true leader, can rally a team, maintain positive morale, and work environment, and ensure a smooth efficiently run operation. This is a full-time working lead role and this position require work weekends and holidays as needed.

You will be responsible for:

• The Packhouse Lead will assist the Packhouse Manager with supervision of the packhouse team.
• Ensuring Packers are working efficiently and are properly trained on packhouse jobs, safety and food safety.
• Ensuring proper cleaning & sanitation methods are followed in the packhouse.
• Ensuring safe work conditions and food safety are maintained at all times.
• Supporting Manager to ensure that GMPs are followed.
• Supporting Manager to ensure that all PH Logs are kept up to date including but not limited to orders Log, inventory Log, Packhouse Log, etc.
• Communication with Manager to detect any diseases or cross-contamination and communicate to Manager for further actions.
• Supporting in the maintenance and cleanliness of Packing House area including all equipment.
• Communicating daily with Manager and provide feedback on employee's performance, provide ideas to improve efficiencies, and maintain pack-pace.
• Executing the harvest order according to the manager direction including Retail and Wholesale.
• Supporting packhouse leaders in proper First come/First out rotation and maintains packhouse cleanliness/organization and provides daily product inventory.
• Assisting the Manager in ensuring the Company’s product are dispatched to the customers in a timely manner and meet quality and requirements of the product.
• Setting up production lines, machines, labelers for the Packhouse.
• Assisting the manager to ensure that the product coding is correct, and the product is being correctly rotated.
• Informing Manager of issues such as employee related issues, product waste, poor product, or shortages of product.
• Assisting Manager on holding damaged, extra product or rejections in the correct area.
• Following all company policies and procedures and ensure that the packhouse team are also.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum two years’ related experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds or more.
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete surface for 8+ hours shift
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Fast paced environment working on and around powered industrial equipment and background noise.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and MS applications.
• Proficient in speaking, writing, and communicating in English, Spanish a must but not required.
• Must be honest and forthcoming, flexible, reliable, respectful to others and passionate.
