Position Description: Agricultural Technician I
Apis Hyve LLC, dba Echo Electuary, is excited to hire a new team member to join our cannabis cultivation crew! The position of Agricultural Technician I is for part-time nonexempt work. Compensation is $18.00 per hour. Additional benefits are listed in the Employee Handbook.
Primary Responsibilities | Essential Functions
- Safe and sanitary methods of agricultural operations such as: germinating seed, clone propagation, nutrient mixing, soil moving and filling, transplanting, trimming, weeding, trellising, harvesting, bucking, fresh freezing, weighing, cleaning, sanitizing, operating small to medium agricultural equipment, watering, irrigation operation, light deprivation & controlled greenhouse technique, indoor vs outdoor cultivation procedures, equipment troubleshooting, repair and maintenance, landscaping, building and breaking down temporary shade structures, and other various tasks. (Cannabis/Marijuana grower, cultivator, gardener.)
- Ensure plants are cared for at highest level of company standards through their entire life cycle, understand and follow proprietary established company policies, procedures, recognized practices and direction from Managers. Prevent and identify pests, diseases or stressors that pose a threat to plant health and growth requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized, and accessible workspace.
- Take precise counts and measurements for accurate data entry in our batch log and or metrc.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in conditions of hot and cold fluctuating temperature, sunlight, artificial light, exposure to gases, chemicals, and airborne particles, frequent loud noises, contact with trichome plants, and strong aromas.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, balance, crouch, squat, twist, reach at, above and below shoulder height; frequently lift, carry, push, pull and/or move 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and perform repetitive tasks and motions for entirety of shift.
Requirements:
- 21 years or older with current OLCC Marijuana Workers Permit and reliable transportion to job in Eugene.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and to apply concepts of algebra and manipulate equations (i.e. unit conversion equations).
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, balancing shifting priorities and meeting deadlines within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Ability to listen and effectively communicate. Discuss difficult or unique issues promptly, clearly and with calculated thought. Admit mistakes immediately.
- Compliance with company, local, state, and federal practices, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Generally, be open, adaptable, quick learning, curious, positive, and kind. This environment is often faced with rapidly changing circumstances and market direction.
