Are you an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper who enjoys taking on new challenges? Are you looking for work as a Full Charge Bookkeeper? If you're comfortable with preparing and processing financial statements and accounts and managing all general accounting and bookkeeping essential functions, Robert Half might have a job for you. To succeed in this position, you will need excellent organizational skills, strong communication tactics, and have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines. This long-term contract / temporary to hire Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.Your responsibilities in this role
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections
- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
- Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets
- Filing documents to maintain historical records
- Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
- Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
- Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
- Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
- Previous experience with payroll preferred
- Earlier work involving Excel and Peachtree
- Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
- Strong familiarity with QuickBooks
- Full charge bookkeeping experience required
- Bookkeeping experience desired
