Job description
Duties
- Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
- Prepares food by sorting, washing, peeling, and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables.
- Operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation.
- Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
- Incumbent must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.
- Medical examination is required.
- This position is a Flexible (Flex) position with a minimum guarantee of 32 hours per week. Please Note: Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits.
- Must be available to work during the Operating Hours: Monday-Friday 0500-1300 and on occasional weekends for special events.
Qualifications
Skills and Knowledge:
Must have knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures. Must have the ability to perform routine manual tasks involving few steps, and be able to read and understand written material. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: knowledge, skills, abilities, additional screening criteria and other characteristics.
Highly Preferred Criteria:
Highly Preferred applicants will possess a minimum of at least three (3) months of work experience performing food service work related duties.
Applicants meeting the highly preferred criteria will be referred to management first. All other minimally qualified applicants will be referred to management if a selection is not made from the highly preferred list, at management's discretion.

This position is a Flexible (Flex) position. You may be regularly scheduled or scheduled on an as needed basis. There are 32 guaranteed hours per week. Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits.
