Food and Beverage Decanter

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Decanter to join our hotel team. The Food and Beverage Decanter has an essential function in the hotel’s food safety chain. All received fruits, vegetables, seafood, meats etc. must undergo a specific sanitation process before they are getting processed. Dry goods must be decanted from cardboard. The decanter is responsible to ensure the food safety processes and maintaining the food safety chain documentation. The Decanter also assists the purchasing & receiving team when the decanting job is completed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Decant and sanitize all fruits, vegetables, seafood, meats etc
- Decanting dry goods and storing on stablished places
- Measuring and maintaining all food safety documentation
- Measuring and maintaining sanitizer chemical concentrations
- Stock shelfs, refill items
- Loading, unloading, moving, heavy items, bulk products up to 50 pounds
- Conditioning shelves and products
- Keeping work area clean and sanitized, including walk in refrigerators and freezers
- Assist receiving process in the loading dock
- Ensure compliance with all purchasing & receiving policies
- Performs other purchasing tasks and projects as required by management
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience within a similar role in the food industry
- Knowledge of seafood, meats, fruit, vegetables, and dry goods
- Must be able to lift, move and manipulate heavy items daily
- Ability to work in refrigerated workspace daily
- Team player that assists others when needed
- Reliability and punctuality are a big plus
- This position requires a flexible work schedule; weekends and holidays is a must
- Must be an effective communicator who can add value to the procurement process.
- Impeccable attention to detail and sense of urgency in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Display professional conduct, sound judgment, the highest level of professional integrity, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals, while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Must possess excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Experience and/or certification in using general warehouse equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED is required. Some college is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years hospitality purchasing experience.
- Working knowledge of NBO and Oracle purchasing system preferred.
- Hotel opening experience preferred.
- Knowledge in and or experience with Forbes 5 Star service standards is preferred.
- Must have or willing to acquire a Food Handler Safety certification card
- Computer skills is a plus
