The Behavioral Health Technician staff is under direct supervision providing direct adult supervision; assists in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances treatment. The Behavioral Health Technician operates in a transitional, residential environment.

PREFERRED CREDENTIALS: EMT, LVN, CNA, RADT-I, and education in related field

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: PREVIOUS BEHAVIORAL/MENTAL HEALTH, KIPU, and First Responder/Veteran

CURRENT SHIFT AVAILABILITY:

GENERAL POPULATION HOUSE (COSTA MESA, CA)

1 AM POSITION: 7:00AM - 3:30PM Friday - Monday (4 days full time)

FIRST RESPONDER HOUSE (CORONA DEL MAR, CA)

1 SWING POSITION: 3:00PM - 11:30PM Friday - Monday (4 days full time)

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
  • Assists clients with activities of daily living; attends to client behavioral issues and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.
  • Works with a multidisciplinary team in leading milieu activities such as current events groups, community meetings, life skills, and/or recreational activities, as appropriate to the specified population.
  • Charts client observations, following policy and procedures requirements/mandates.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of treatment programs.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and all records.
  • Transports clients to and from community appointments, clinics, labs, and/or treatments, as and when appropriate.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Document and utilize Electronic Medical Records.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings, group sessions, and in-service education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Attainment of at least 18 years of age
  • A Criminal Background Clearance - Livescan
  • Driving record
  • A Health Screening with TB test results
  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency test preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented with good oral and written communication skills.
  • 1 year experience working in residential treatment with knowledge of co-occurring disorders.
  • At least 18 years of age

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Behavioral Health Technician Certificate (Preferred) pay DOE

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
