Job Summary

The Finishing Operator is responsible for the careful operation of equipment to meet the Color Graphic needs of Cushing customers. This requires careful reading of orders, understanding the safe operation of equipment, and time management of order deadlines. In addition, the operator must have a thorough knowledge of material specs and application, troubleshooting technical issues, and a commitment to quality control. Operator also shows a thorough knowledge of the company’s other production areas and a general grasp of the printing industry. Ability to master teamwork with a positive attitude is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate with ColorLab supervisor about best methods to complete in house orders by best using various company resources, i.e. mounting, laminating, and printing techniques, etc.
• Analyze and troubleshoot malfunctioning printers or finishing equipment; place service calls as needed and suggest alternative production methods.
• Perform routine maintenance on all equipment.
• This operator can train other operators in the correct use of printing software, printers, cutting equipment, finishing equipment, and other specialized techniques.
• Fully understand the written work order as well as the production operating system and how to make adjustments and notes; seek out updated information from CushIQ for most accurate production.
• Frequent evaluation of daily and weekly workload to best determine priority items and manage regular production schedule to control overtime.
• Consistently check for quality and accuracy of jobs and occasional responsible for final QC of completed projects; responsible for ensuring internal timelines are met.
• Ensure proper packaging procedures are being met and followed with a clear understanding of shipping and courier protection requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and positive attitude.
• Work with team members to facilitate successful completion of graphics for installations; ability to read and understand shared calendars and help resolve scheduling conflicts; ability to assist install team off site when needed.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by ColorLab Supervisor.

Job Qualifications

• High School diploma required, experience with printing graphics preferred
• Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with customers as well as ColorLab supervisor and colleagues
• Computer skills to use basic office software, e-mail, internet, as well as knowledge of rip software and equipment management
• Some lifting required, up to 50 lbs; ability to work standing while operating the finishing equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
