Financial Specialist- College of Nursing

The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Nursing is accepting applications for an Admin Specialist I position. This position reports to the Executive Assistant Dean of Finance and COO and serves as the financial specialist for the College. This position’s primary responsibilities include accounts payable, travel, asset management, compliance and training. This position coordinates and performs complex daily activities and operations of the finance and administration office in the College of Nursing. This position has access to sensitive information and the holder must have the utmost discretion and confidentiality of materials and data. This position must be able to work independently and complete tasks accurately and on time.
Job Duties:
- Invoices: posts/enters payment invoices for the College
- Transfer Vouchers: complete internal and external transfer vouchers
- Petty Cash entry for all College
- Maintain, request and updated Vendor Files
- Present material to the college related to accounts payable/receivable/travel,etc.
- Initial reviewer in IRIS for CON centers for policy adherence
- IRIS Sub Approver for Assistant Dean of Finance & Operations
- Pcard Reviewer: review pcard statements and backup for policy compliance
- Provide guidance to staff/faculty regarding fiscal policy, travel, petty cash, etc.
- Advise Assistant Dean if non-compliance is observed
- Supply documentation, information & reports for assistant dean, auditors & other parties as needed
- Elevate to Executive Assistant Dean of Finance and COO to resolve compliance issues as needed
- Responsible for asset recording & reporting
- CONCUR subject matter expert: trains and advises uses on the new CONCUR travel system
- TAG committee member
- Delegate for all CON employees to enter and process travel for all CON
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Professional decision-making and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments
- Ability to accomplish projects independently with little or no supervision
- Ability and willingness to consistently adhere to the College of Nursing mission statement, vision, strategic plan and all University and College policies and procedures
- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Suite
Required Education and Experience:
6-7 years experience with High School Diploma
1-2 years experience with Bachelor's Degree
Experience with the University of Tennessee policies and procedures
Preferred Experience:
SAP or IRIS experience
Database management and analysis
