Child Nutrition Service - Bachelor's degree preferred in Food and Nutrition, Business Management, Hospitality Management, or other nutritional or business field strongly preferred or at least 5 years of progressive food service management experience.
- K-12 school nutrition experience or a position with similar work responsibilities preferred.
- State of Texas or ANSI accredited Food Service Manager’s Certification preferred.

- Direct food service managers to ensure all state and local health department requirements are followed.
- Support operations team by helping to create the customer experience appropriate to SBISD Child Nutrition Services standards and brand.
- Complete on-site audits to verify adherence to federal, state, local and district standards regarding food production, health code requirements, food safety, service and quality.
- Instruct and supervise in the use of work schedules, food production records, inventory control, HACCP procedures, organizational management, and all other aspects of daily kitchen performance.
- Monitor campus inventory control of food and non-food orders as needed.
- Evaluate operations including but not limited to, kitchen flow, product quality, employee coverage and financial reports.
- Utilize data to evaluate participation, quality, effectiveness, staffing, productivity and cost. Develop and implement an action plan to correct any deficiencies.
- Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of kitchen equipment needs.
- Coordinate and assist with processing work orders for kitchen equipment.
- Recommend and implement standard operational procedures as needed.
- Support the development and implementation of marketing and promotions in all schools.
- Assume managerial responsibilities as needed
- Supervise, coach, develop, evaluate, and document employee performance.
- Assess campus staffing levels by monitoring meals per labor hour report.
- Develop and promote employee growth, efficiency, morale and teamwork through professional growth opportunities.
- Initiate growth plan and/or disciplinary action when required.
- Appraise manager work performance using SBISD evaluation tools.
- Responsible for continuous monitoring and on-going education of employees in district safety practices.

- Support Child Nutrition Department with regular attendance.
- Must meet required annual Professional Standards for School Nutrition Professionals
- Attend workshops, training, and seminars to keep abreast of current research and information
