You'd be joining a team of counselors focused on helping support, stabilize and enhance the wellbeing of families involved with DCP&P where the children are at risk of abuse or neglect.

What you'll do as a Counselor
- Provide short-term, intensive, in-home counseling to 2 families at a time, each receiving a minimum of 5 hours of weekly face-to-face contact.
- Address safety concerns and enhance functioning and well-being of parents and children residing in Cape May County.
- Teach, coach and model parenting skills and effective parent-child interactions.
- Advocate and link families to concrete services and supports.
- Work collaboratively with DCP&P and community service providers
- Complete documentation consistent with program and agency requirements.

What you'll contribute as a Counselor
- Bachelor's degree in counseling or a related field with one to two years of professional experience
- Strong engaging, communication and collaboration skills
- Professionalism, ethics and a commitment to excellence in care
- Must demonstrate initiative, creativity, reliability and the ability to work well independently
- Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment
- Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record
