General Description:

The Palo Alto Research & Development Site is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Facilities team as a Maintenance Technician. This individual will be responsible for equipment maintenance and repair activities on building and lab/pilot plant systems, will further develop maintenance programs with various site teams, and will be a key contributor to the site maintenance strategy for new and existing equipment. In this role, you will be part of a talented creative team applying cutting edge technology to address customer needs in a wide range of applications.

Specific Duties Include

• Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting activities to support the site, its equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair building systems such as plumbing, drains and HVAC equipment.
• Order and manage on site spare parts for quick turnaround of equipment maintenance.
• Diligent management of individual work requests.
• Communicate effectively with scientists, engineers and production staff.
• Ensure functions are performed safely with respect to applicable regulations and company policies.

Knowledge and Skills

• Working Knowledge of HVAC and related Mechanical systems.
• Working Knowledge of Pneumatic and Digital Controls is desired.
• Working Knowledge of General Building Maintenance.
• Experience with the operation of Boilers, Air Compressors, Chillers, Centrifugal Pumps, Variable Frequency Drives, Heat Exchangers, Air Handling systems.
• Skilled in the use of standard hand, shop, and power tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with good organizational skills.
• Familiar with MS Office.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Certificate of Completion at a 2-3 year Technical Trade School or High School Diploma.
• Experienced Maintenance Technician
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HVAC/Facility technician in industrial, commercial or Bio-Lab/R&D environments.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, overtime as needed and support after-hours On-Call duties.
• Able to wear PPE as required by the environment: Safety Glasses, Goggles, Face shield, Mask, Gloves, Safety Boots, Aprons and Safety Harness.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in Pharma, Biotech and Electronic industry is a plus.

Compensation ($64,100 - $100,200) is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
