Summary: This position is responsible for basic custodial and maintenance services as assigned to perpetuate a clean, safe, and healthy environment.

Essential Board Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

· Perform routine maintenance duties inside and outside the buildings, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance

· Perform carpentry functions including but not limited to: installing pictures, bulletin boards, blinds, signs, shelving, curtains, etc. Performing minor furniture repairs and replace damaged ceiling tiles.

· Move, load, unload, haul and carry materials, supplies and equipment.

· Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.

· Assembles/fabricates cabinets, files, desks, chairs and work tables.

· Perform custodial tasks as needed, maintains familiarity with cleaning procedures, and safety practices. These include, but are not limited to, cleaning, dusting, or waxing furniture, fixture, windows, glass and mirrors.

· Clean and sanitize restrooms using established processes and procedures as needed.

· Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, special events, etc.

· Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpet

· Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.

· Performs touch up and finish painting

· Perform routine landscaping duties including weeding and trimming

· Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.

· Operate cleaning and snow removal equipment to remove snow and ice from walkways.

· Lift and remove heavy objects and equipment manually or with mechanical assistance.

· Maintain an adequate inventory of housekeeping supplies and paper products.

· Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.

· Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.

· Repair machines, equipment, or structures, as necessary.

· Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor

· Diagnose and troubleshoot issues

· Report to Director of Facilities regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress

· Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors

· Comply with all safety and health regulations

· Assist in transporting furniture and equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.24 - $19.00 per hour
