The position of Custodial, Environmental Health, Energy, Sustainability and Safety Facilities Supervisor assists in supervising district custodial operations. Conducts and coordinates various training to support district programs. Plan, direct, and implement health and safety programs to ensure a positive, safe, and healthy work environment for the district. Is responsible for compliance with all environmental and safety regulatory agencies.
This Facilities Supervisor will also work to establish accountability for energy consumption at every level in the organization; responsible for developing and monitoring the organization's energy management program under existing administrative policies and guidelines, for the purpose of reducing utility consumption; works closely with a third-party organization with expertise in energy management and sustainability; assists with building modifications and small project oversight; oversees the facilities white fleet operations.
Incumbent must meet pre-employment drug and alcohol testing requirements; subject to random drug and alcohol testing, including reasonable suspicion.

Custodial, Environment Health and Safety

Advises the Building Manager in the coordination of cleaning throughout the year and during winter, spring, and summer breaks

Assists schools with custodial and environmental and safety management
-
Coordinates building maintenance services including events setup with other district departments and functions
-
Coordinates snow removal with building managers and facilities personnel and assists if necessary
-
Coordinates work schedules and all interactions with custodial contracts
-
Ensures all maintenance equipment is maintained to manufacturers specifications
-
Implements and tracks preventative maintenance programs
-
Implements inspection on critical operating equipment and apparatus
-
Inspects district property and equipment to detect existing or potential incident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented

Oversees storm water management and implements training and coordination of activities with sites

Oversees the pest management for district buildings
-
Participates in the interview process for all custodial positions district wide
-
Responsible for the supervision and assignment of substitute custodians
-
Reviews current custodial contracts, evaluates and modifies for highest efficiencies, and participates in RFP development and evaluation of contractors

Schedules work as needed with supervisors of other facilities departments

Tracks the completion of work orders and communicates to stakeholders

Energy and Sustainability Management
-
Advises, assists, and makes recommendations to the Director for Facilities and district leadership on alternate energy sources, consumption, and general energy conservation measures
-
Analyzes and interprets technical data and successfully communicates in a non-technical manner
-
Conducts regular “walk through” audits, and implements shutdown checklists of all the district’s facilities to ensure operating efficiency, optimum educational environment, and compliance with district’s energy policy
-
Develops and maintains contact with federal and state agencies and monitor state and national energy policy trends
-
Ensures district participation in any rebate program offered
-
Maintains a program to promote energy conservation through positive feedback at all levels of the district and involves all personnel in taking ownership for success of the program
-
Maintains all energy and water consumption records and data
-
Maintains cooperative and supportive working relationship with the energy conservation company
-
Maintains positive public relations among all stakeholders
-
Maintains records of federal energy conservation grants received by the district
-
Oversees assigned building modifications and small projects for the district
-
Oversees the white fleet operations
-
Provides regular communication with school leadership and building managers as to status of their buildings’ energy consumption
-
Serves as the district representative at management level meetings, seminars and conferences relating to energy use and conservation, works with district communications to promote program
-
Works with building and maintenance personnel on proper operation of the systems and equipment
