The Facilities and Technician Manager concentrates on the safety of our guests and employees through maintaining exhibits and other aspects of the building. Our Facilities and Technician Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance team, upkeep of building and exhibits, monitoring the safety of equipment, and maintaining company values. Responsibilities:

  • Monitors budget for construction and maintenance of exhibits
  • Provides technical assistance to department staff in construction and maintenance activities
  • Works with management staff to design physical layout of exhibit and provides technical requirements to ensure proper installation of exhibition
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for building shop safety and machine and tool utilization and storage
  • Constructs and prepares props and backgrounds for exhibits, vitrines and showcases, partitions, walls, and general exhibition effects
  • Paints wallpapers and installs fabric in exhibition galleries, finishes floors, and assembles and mounts wall panels, labels, photomurals, photographs, and other materials
  • Adjusts and installs lightning fixtures
  • Evaluates and modifies interactive exhibits to ensure maximum durability for use by public during exhibition
  • Installs exhibits and display mechanisms for exhibits and ensures their proper functioning
  • Maintains areas around exhibits and makes minor repairs as needed
  • Monitors exhibit functioning and prioritizes and carries our major repair needs
  • Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
  • Sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability or prototype or production model
  • Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects of unit performance
  • Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system’s operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations
  • Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions
  • Prolong standing and walking to various areas of the attraction
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to travel domestically for initial two week training
  • Ability to multi-task, work with limited supervision, and make reasonable and ethical decisions
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, use hands and/or fingers, and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds amid a moderate to loud work environment
  • Ability to work on tasks at varied heights
  • Observational skills to ensure safe practices and maintenance of equipment
  • Be able to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school degree or GED required. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree from an four-year college or university in Electronics or Information Technology preferred
  • Five to seven years of experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous maintenance and management experience in an attractions, theme park, or high volume entertainment venue environment is preferred
