Job description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician provides ongoing support of the company’s facilities' equipment needs. This includes maintenance and repair of facilities assets, and may include the installation of assets for projects related to facilities, office, production and/or production support equipment. Identifying areas in need of repair, such tasks may include hands on work or adjustments to facilities, office, and equipment were skill set applies.
You will:

  • Perform maintenance, installation, and repairs on all equipment required to accommodate the needs of the Facilities department
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment as required , which may include: belts, filters (interior and exterior) and coil cleaning
  • Make adjustments and changes on HVAC equipment to maintain established comfort zones, adjustments shall include but not limited to; Air conditioning and Heating system adjustments, (Building Management system) fresh air and exhaust systems, duct dampers and splitters and damper motors
  • Perform routine inspections and advise on necessary repair/preventive maintenance work for critical and emergency equipment (generator/UPS, Liebert systems, fire protection/pre-action systems, building electrical service) Installs and/or maintains piping systems for, compressed air, nitrogen, and argon systems as needed
  • Perform kitchen equipment repairs and maintenance as needed, and the first point of contact for external vendors as needed to perform tasks outside our internal areas of expertise
  • Perform boiler inspections as required, and coordinates schedules boiler repairs/annual inspections
  • Assist Facilities Management team with developing scope of work and scheduling and implementation of equipment preventive maintenance schedules in the company-wide CMMS program
  • Escort facilities contractors to job site and monitors work performed
  • Perform general maintenance which may include, but is not limited to; painting, patching, light bulbs, clocks time changes, Interceptor Traps, battery replacement of all types, door hardware adjustments, faucets, toilet fixtures, water supply lines and other plumbing items and issues
  • Periodically assists with event and training room set ups
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards
  • Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
  • Seek to improve individual performance and work processes by collaborating with the facilities team
  • Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

You have:

  • 1-2 years hands-on experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
  • General facility maintenance knowledge to include compressed air systems, electrical and process cooling systems
  • Ability to effectively interact with people at all levels of the organization, including operations, engineering, and management
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Self-starter with the ability organize priorities as they present themselves
  • Ability to read and write in English, do basic arithmetic, and follow printed and computer-screen instructions, Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use computers for the creation and manipulation of files/data using Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work outside normal day time hours as needed
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, good work ethic

You also have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Bonus points for:

  • Special Engineer boilers license
  • HVAC experience
  • Plumbing skills

Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for the entire shift. Lift up to 70 pounds waist high, carry up to 70 pounds alone. Essential job duties require reaching, bending, and grasping. Able to read machine-shop gauges and indicators. Able to travel to multiple sites to perform essential duties. Use of ladders are required for this job.
Work Environment:
