Position: Extended School Year Assistant (SPED PARA Non-Teaching Support) - Multiple Vacancies
ESY Dates: July 10-13, July 17-20, July 24-27
WORK YEAR: Summer 2023
Hourly Rate: $21.50 per hour.
FRINGE BENEFITS: This position is not benefits eligible.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Two year degree or equivalent;
2. Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Training (training must be completed online prior to first student contact day);
3. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training (training will be made available; and, must be completed within timelines provided by Special Services);
4. Able to lift up to 70 lbs. and be able to restrain students in emergency situations.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. CPR and First Aid Training;
2. Special Education Paraprofessional Training;
3. Experience working with students with disabilities;
4. Good written and verbal communication skills;
5. Must be able to work one-on-one with individual students and with small groups;
6. Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team;
7. Experience and/or training in behavior management.
