When you join our team, you will become involved in supporting or delivering some of the biggest and most complex machinery installation and relocation projects in the world. Our people are experts in a diverse range of industries including automotive, aerospace, infrastructure, print, packaging, FMCG, metals and many more.

Purpose of role

Responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare costs and labor estimates as well as prepare the subsequent proposal to the client. They are also responsible for receiving and replying to Invitations to bid, soliciting bids from subcontractors, maintaining our bid schedule and other day-to-day tasks. This role interacts frequently with engineering, office and field personnel.

Main responsibilities

• Review plans and drawings.

• Solicit vendors and subcontractor bids for assigned projects as necessary. Review and analyze bids for conformance to project specifications, price, material quality, and related items. Discusses and resolves any questions with Customer prior to submission of final estimate.

• Follow approved estimating practices consistent with corporate guidelines. Ensure such practices result in the most complete estimates possible while ensuring the financial objectives are met.

• Utilization of estimation best practices

• Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.

• Assist Project Managers on accurately pricing change orders for on-going work.

• Ensure that the information required to begin the estimating process is accurate and available.

• Accurately size equipment and analyze safety considerations.

• Working with Project Managers on the preparation and submittal of proposals.

Requirements

Experience and qualifications required

• Experience estimating mechanical and electrical engineering projects particularly installations of production equipment.

• Strong general experience of mechanical trades.

• Strong MS Office experience, Excel and Word proficient.

• Experience managing a small team and controlling, organizing and motivating internal labor resources and sub-contractors.

• Good financial skills including: cost and budgetary controls, accounting controls and procedures through to project completion

• Project estimation qualification or specific training

•Minimal travel may be required

• Solution oriented.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
