As a Barclays Equity Finance Developer you will be part of Prime Finance IT organization and you will be an integral part of the Prime Data Solutions team, which is broadly responsible for building financial models and critical trading tools catering to various Prime Business/product lines across Sales, Trading and Risk Management strategy. You will be at the forefront of innovative client focused solutions using big data and financial modelling. Lastly, you will work with Product Management and business stake holders.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?

• Partnering effectively with business stake holders in font office including Sales, Trading, Risk and Product Mgmt to iteratively innovate and develop rapid proof of concept tools
• Developing applications around areas such as financial and quantitative modelling, desk and client centric process automations, reporting and visualization
• Developing solutions in-line with Prime Data Architecture tools/component and transition POC to MVP and strategic solutions
• Leveraging knowledge in capital markets across Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives including trade life cycle, reference and market data
• Developing end-to-end solutions for Prime business
• Having alignment to Prime Electronification strategy and working with Front Office and IT to deliver high quality client focused solutions

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Financial Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or related field
• Solid software development experience in a front office environment with hands on across all phases of development Lifecyle
• Solid development experience in Python with experience in Data Analysis/Visualization libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Plotly etc
• Knowledge of Big Data/Hadoop technologies such as Hive, Impala & Spark

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Knowledge of Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Cash & Synthetic Financing
• Prior experience in PnL/Risk modelling
