About the Opportunity

The Blender Specialist is responsible for providing the administration of chemicals to treat various water conditions on Frac locations, providing customer feedback, and recording inventory in a safely and timely manner. Major responsibilities include but not limited to leading and mentoring of Field Technicians, Rigging Up / Down, Pump Maintenance, Sand Operations, Chemical Operations, Blender Operations, Ground Foreman, and Pump Operations. This position will work under the direction of a Basin Supervisor and/or Operations Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Present a professional manner and work closely with salespeople to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of industry and equipment to analyze and manage day to day operations to ensure efficient and effective services for the customer.
  • Maintain regular communication with sales and supervisor in order to report field problems and/or safety hazards.
  • Actively participates in safety meetings to identify and address risks and hazards.
  • Continually train, develop, and coach Field Service Technicians on all Solaris equipment and technology.
  • Participate in well site job risk analysis and continual improvement programs in the location that affects client satisfaction.
  • Reviews the job parameters and specifics with appropriate personnel in the preplanning stages of the job.
  • Verifies all dispatch information, load information, fluid, chemical, and ensure equipment is ready for service.
  • Serve as mentor and competency assessor to all subordinate equipment operators.
  • Comply with chemical handling safety requirements, when applicable.
  • Ability to rig-up all frac equipment in a safe and timely manner.
  • Fully capable to run blender on wellsite.
  • Ensures all chemicals are safely cleaned up, accounted for, and secured.
  • Walks site to ensure that all equipment is properly shutdown and turned off.
  • Implement, adhere, and manage to the guidelines set forth in the Sand Silo, Chemical Silo and Blender Operations Manual.

Experience/Education

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience with fracturing operations.
  • Advanced knowledge, skills, and experience in fracturing equipment, chemicals, proppant, and equipment maintenance.
  • Advanced skills in customer service with thorough understanding of providing excellent service quality.
  • Completion and strong performance in all Solaris competencies (Safety, training, Equipment Setup and Operation, Operational/Management Skills)
