We are seeking a New York State Article VII Siting and Environmental Permitting Specialist within our Commercial Energy practice in the northeastern US. The location for this position is flexible in the northeastern US (New York State preferred) and the ability to travel to client and project meetings in the region is desired. Remote arrangements will be considered.


This role will support our Renewable Energy market sector across the northeastern US, with special focus in New York (metro area and Upstate), with new transmission tower infrastructure, submarine cables, duct banks, and renewable (e.g., offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, and battery storage) energy asset interconnection. The focus will be supporting and executing projects supporting electrical transmission infrastructure, and renewables including offshore wind interconnects and solar development projects.


The candidate will be joining an experienced and technically proficient team with an extensive backlog of project work in multiple client sectors and a strong presence in the electric transmission and renewable energy arenas, in particular Offshore Wind Energy Permitting. This is a full-time role and an opportunity to work in a strong team environment.


Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • MS or MBA is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated prior experience with siting, routing, and alternatives analysis studies supporting transmission siting petitions/applications and in particular NYS Article VII Filings.
  • Experience managing the completion of Environmental Management and Construction Plan (EM&CP) is also required.
  • Additional background supporting/leading environmental permitting applications with USACE, NYSDEC, SEQRA, and NJDEP is desirable.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state law.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

$90,000 - $120,000 yr.
