Job description
E&I Engineering is hiring a Project Manager in Anderson, SC who will reporting to the Project Engineering Manager. This position presents an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional pertaining to design engineering and key project management functions of power distribution production.
- Provide project co-ordination externally between client / consultant, sub-contractors and suppliers and internally between other departments including Service Sales, Finance, Service Sales Admin and Service Operations
- Commercial control of key projects including budgets, variations/change orders and pay applications
- Liaison with key customers, sub-contractors and suppliers, including site surveys and meetings
- Work with the Project Management Office (PMO) to help define and develop methods and procedures and institute best practices. Ensure the procedures are enforced on your projects
- Review and understand requirements and details of each project in order to create and deliver project work plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Work closely with the Service Operations Department to co-ordinate engineering resource ensuring all site works are performed efficiently and with costs only incurred that can be charged to the project.
- Create the project scope of work in conjunction with the technical and relationship sales team defining Vertiv responsibilities as well as other stakeholders. Utilize standard Project Management tools to conduct the project effectively, achieving quality, financial and schedule targets.
- Coordinate with order management, plant production, logistics, contractors, services and warranty groups throughout the project, escalating potential conflicts to avoid impact to the customer, and balance large projects demand with flow business.
- Follow Reporting and tracking programs to assure the project is on target for quality, schedule and cost targets. Establish project reporting and KPI's. Document meeting notes, action items and follow through to completion. Provide forecasting and project status updates to SPL via weekly/monthly reports.
- Be proactive in establishing a culture of Safety for each project. Host periodic safety meetings to ensure the project is always considering safety first.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of project management experience, critical infrastructure expertise with Switchgear, UPS, PDU, RPP, Generators, thermal, battery and monitoring is a plus. Knowledge of construction, electrical and mechanical contracting. Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing processes, data center infrastructure and commissioning processes is helpful.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Associates degree or equivalent experience.
- Licensures/Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)
