TRC Professional Solutions is seeking a full-time Engineering Manager for one of the nation's largest wire and cable manufacturers!
General Summary
The Engineering Manager's responsibilities include reviewing all engineering design plans, performing complex calculations, designing and constructing connected systems and their components, liaising with other engineers, and maintaining relationships with site personnel, vendors, and other stakeholders. You should be able to comply with the allocated budget and build reliable, quality systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Engineering Manager's responsibilities include reviewing all engineering design plans, performing complex calculations, designing and constructing connected systems and their components, liaising with other engineers, and maintaining relationships with site personnel, vendors, and other stakeholders. You should be able to comply with the allocated budget and build reliable, quality systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote safety in the workplace and on all project job sites
- Prepare, receive, and evaluate bid packages for contractor work
- Develop capital project budgets, timelines, and return/benefits
- Coordinate with plant management, production scheduling, and support groups to complete projects on schedule
- Work with Lean, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Process teams to ensure new installations meet the latest standards
- Develop safety policies, maintenance procedures, and operating standards for connected equipment
- Analyzing technical drawings, interpreting specifications and determining the system requirements of a given project
- Managing and monitoring all assigned projects and engineers.
- Using CAD software to draft designs.
- Knowledge of Database structure and languages. MS-SQL, SQL, Oracle, stored procedures, etc.
- Strong knowledge of TIA portal Version 14 and above preferred
- Experience and proficiency with ladder logic/PLC programming, Siemens and Rockwell preferred
- Evaluating OEM PLC programs, and identifying areas to tie-in added functionality/safety programming
- Evaluating and documenting PLC programs for connectivity and data needs
- Knowledge of OPC- UA server and gateway configuration (Kepware)
- Electrical and network schematics and blueprints
- Cost estimating
- Follow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience in SCADA systems and OT networks
- 2D AutoCAD Electrical experience required
- Experience in project management preferred
- Ability to make decisions under pressure
- Excellent time management and diagnostic skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to travel approximately 50% of the time
