Job Description / Responsibilities:

• Ability and willingness to perform outdoor fieldwork and inspections.
• Ability to read plans and correctly layout borings and test pits on project sites.
• Observing and documenting test pits
• Performing and documenting hang auger borings.
• Involvement in Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) testing.
• Classifying samples obtained from drilling operations.
• Become the lead operator on a cone penetration test (CPT) sounding rig.
• Preparation of field reports (submitted to Engineer) for the services provided (strong writing skills needed).
• Prepare routine reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations.
• Interacting with project personnel, including contractor, project managers and engineers.
• Work closely with senior level project managers to gain additional project management experience for more complex or larger projects.
• Observing and abiding by the Company’s Safety policies and program.

Desired Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering, Geology, Construction Management or related science field).
• BSCE with Engineer- in- Training preferred.
• Construction related experience preferred.

Requirements:

• Must be able to routinely lift / handle approximately 100 lb. items (5-foot long sections of steel augers/pipes, 5-gallon buckets of soil/rock, sacks of cement, etc.)
• Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons.
• Ability to travel, performing work across Georgia and South Carolina up to 50 % of the time (M-F).
• Must be Drug Free
• Must have a clean MVR
• Not afraid of heights (will require being in man lifts)
