Job Description
Work with Goodwill’s Job Connections team to provide job search and placement services to individuals seeking employment. Services include employment counseling, appropriate job lead referrals, coaching on job search strategies, assisting with application materials, writing resumes, and providing information and referral services to address employment barriers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold Goodwill’s mission, values, and philosophy.
- Promote Job Connections services to applicants and individuals inquiring about services.
- Prepare and deliver employment-related workshops as needed.
- Coordinate and maintain vocational related resources and referral information.
- Research local employers’ needs and match job seeker’s skills to employment opportunities in the community.
- Maintain the documentation of program outcomes including intakes, job placement and employment status.
- Ensure that all relevant data is accurately entered into appropriate databases and maintain confidentiality.
- Provide recruitment assistance and on-boarding in consultation and collaboration with Human Resources Administration as needed.
- Provide other miscellaneous Human Resources assistance as needed or requested by the Director of Human Resources or Human Resources Administration.
Experience
Two years related experience and training or equivalent. Experience in rehabilitation, social work, human resources, business or related.
Experience assisting individuals with self-sufficiency, vocational goals or related counseling practices preferred.
Required Skills, Education, Certifications and Licenses
- High school diploma or GED, some college preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possession of a valid Alaska driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Strong technical office skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, database management systems and knowledge of virtual platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and maintain participant case notes.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and the general public.
