PRPL is seeking a experienced and talented Electronics Engineer specializing in custom PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and Single Board Computer (SBC) design to assist our team on an innovative project. For this contract opportunity you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality, innovative, and customized PCBs and SBCs to meet specific project requirements. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our cutting-edge technology solution for a global client of ours.

Responsibilities

• PCB Design: Utilize your expertise in PCB layout and design principles to create customized circuit boards that meet project specifications, including component placement, routing, and impedance control.
• Schematic Design: Develop and modify circuit schematics, ensuring proper functionality and compatibility with selected components.
• Component Selection: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and select suitable components based on project requirements, considering factors such as performance, cost, and availability.
• Prototyping and Testing: Participate in collaborative efforts to revise designs based on thorough testing of functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, bill of materials, and test procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of PCBs and SBCs into larger systems.
• Manufacturing Support: Provide guidance and support to the manufacturing team during the production phase, including troubleshooting design-related issues and optimizing manufacturing processes.
• Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electronics engineering, PCB design techniques, and SBC technologies, and proactively introduce new ideas and methodologies to enhance product performance and efficiency.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in designing and developing custom PCBs and SBCs.
• PCB Design Tools: Proficient in using industry-standard PCB design software, such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or KiCad.
• Schematic Capture: Strong understanding and experience in creating and modifying circuit schematics using tools like OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, or similar.
• PCB Layout: Solid knowledge of PCB layout techniques, including high-speed signal integrity considerations, power delivery network design, and EMI/EMC best practices.
• Component Selection: Familiarity with electronic components, including microcontrollers, processors, memory, sensors, and various interfaces (USB, Ethernet, HDMI, etc.).
• Prototyping and Testing: Hands-on experience in prototyping and testing electronic circuits, using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and soldering equipment.
• Documentation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create detailed technical documentation.
• Team Player: Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve design-related issues.
