Electrical Project Manager Compensation & Benefits

Total compensation for the Electrical Project Manager in Chicago, Illinois. is between $100,000 and $140,000 depending on experience and may be more than this range for candidates with exceptional experience and successful performance history.

Electrical Project Manager Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for coordinating and running a project kick-off meeting and forecasting cash flow & manpower needs for projects
• Prepare complete cost estimates (labor and material) for commercial & industrial projects within set deadlines
• Acquire all required permits and licenses for projects and ensure all inspections are handled correctly and promptly
• Overall financial management of the projects, along with profitability and budget
• Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation
• Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare bills of material and other information for use by purchasing
• Prepare complete labor and material cost estimates
• Schedule and attend field walk-downs with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel to understand and determine constructability requirements
• Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency
• Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders
• Assist construction personnel throughout the project lifecycle in tracking and understanding the basis of cost estimate
• Travel may be required up to 25%.

Electrical Project Manager Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management OR Field Experience
• 4 + years experience as a Project Manager.
• Experience with Industrial / Heavy Commercial projects up to $2M.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Knowledgeable of the NEC and all relevant local codes
• Must be comfortable with scheduling, production, productivity analysis, change orders, billing project planning, etc.
• Must have extensive knowledge of change order pricing, such as negotiating and discussing engineering issues
• Software experience within Accubid, MS Office Products

Preferred but Not Necessary

• Field Experience
