Job Description/Responsibilities

Buffalo Trace Distillery is looking for an Controls Technician to join our team in Frankfort, KY. This is a night shift position.

The primary duties include (but are not limited to):

• Executing all plant electrical responsibilities including PLC & MCC installation and maintenance

• Verifying that PLCs, robots, and any extra automation is operating properly

• Perusing electrical diagrams

• Being able to install, identify problems with, and maintain wiring, motors and electrical equipment on 240-volt, 3 phase and 440-volt systems

• Capacity to install variable speed drives and diagnose electronic control systems including electric eyes and relays

• Capacity to program A.B. programmable logic controls.

• Installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, cleaning and maintaining machinery, equipment, fixtures, piping and plumbing systems, etc.

• Interpreting blueprints, manuals, drawings, computer screens, sketches and/or verbal instructions

Qualifications/Requirements

Necessary Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years applicable experience in industrial automation
• A record of successful maintenance experience with a mastery of skills needed to perform everyday maintenance tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing facility
• Hands-on experience with electrical, PLC programming and hardware, and equipment troubleshooting
• Capacity/Willingness to worksecond or third shift
• Potential employees will be required to receive acceptable scores on several tests including mechanical and electrical aptitude exams, pre-employment physical, and drug/alcohol screening
• Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and problem solving abilities
• Detail-oriented and demonstrated ability to perform work with high degree of accuracy
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and ladder logic
• Ability to operate industrial equipment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent safety and attendance records
• High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance or Journeyman Electrician
• Manufacturing systems experience
• Rockwell Automation Controls training
• Allen Bradley PLC programming experience
