Early Childhood Education Specialist Supervisor
Location: Wilsonville
Hours Per Week: 40
Months Per Year: 12
Pay Range: $68,348.80- 78,977.60annually

Position Summary
Responsible for statewide systems, processes, and continuous quality improvement in assigned service area to ensure compliance and accomplishment of Agency goals. Leads teacher preparation and improving classroom quality by providing specific expertise and training and technical assistance strategies that positively impact the developmental and educational outcomes for children birth to five. Supports center programs in implementing and maintaining best practices for children from birth to five and encourages a culture of learning and quality that promotes excellence in early childhood education service delivery.

Essential Functions

Technical Assistance: Subject Matter Content Development and Consultation

  • Facilitates the development and dissemination of evidence-based, strength-based, culturally informed and developmentally appropriate approaches in the field of early childhood to agency staff.
  • Researches and incorporates national, state and local program priorities and program improvement initiatives into program services and activities as directed.
  • Conducts research to develop and improve statewide systems to assist Agency in complying with mandated performance outcomes.
  • Training: Development and Implementation
  • Develops and delivers group, regional, on-site trainings and conference trainings in areas of Early Childhood Education and Head Start/Early Head Start education standards and best practices.

Assessment and Evaluation

  • Applies a broad range of expertise and knowledge of research practices and principles to advise design and delivery of agency educational assessment systems with goal of promoting teaching that produces the best possible outcomes for young children.
  • Oversees the technical and qualitative implementation of agency child outcome system (TS Gold), ensuring that agency aggregations systems for child outcome data are smooth, accurate and timely.
  • Synthesizes and analyzes assessment data from a variety of sources. Assists in identifying and articulating programmatic trends and patterns in data gathered over time to inform decision making on improving child outcomes and school readiness.

Supervision

  • Conducts timely and meaningful performance evaluations and professional development plans as required and as necessary.
  • Provides on-going individual feedback toward the goal of effective performance through modeling, coaching, recognition/praise, and corrective action as appropriate and in a timely manner.
  • Provides guidance and support to staff developing skills and progress in their position.
  • Provides and supports professional development and training opportunities for staff.

Education And Experience Requirements
Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development AND Minimum 5 years work experience in field of Early Childhood Education or Child Development, preferably with Head Start or Early Head Start, and experience providing training and technical assistance in areas of Early Childhood Education, assessment and program management is required.
