Please Note: This is an entry-level position in our E-Commerce Department. As our Goodwill grows, advancement opportunities may become available for the right candidate. Jewelry Associates are responsible for sorting and classifying jewelry, tagging and labeling items, testing items and quality control functions. Duties also include photographing items for sale and creating listings for our on-line platform. An eye for detail is a must!! If you have a clerical background or are someone interested in learning skills in the growing e-commerce industry, this may be the position for you!!

Various schedules are available. Shifts could start as early 7 am and go as late as 8:30 pm. Monday through Friday and start as early as 7 am and go as late as 3:30 pm Saturdays and Sundays. Make sure you tell us about your availability! Evening and Weekend availability is preferred.

OBJECTIVE:

The E-Commerce Jewelry Associate will work in a fast-paced production type of environment and will be responsible for sorting, identifying and classifying appropriate, quality jewelry for on-line sales and occasional retail center sale. The Jewelry Associate will ensure that production goals are met through inventory control, product transfer, and tracking of incoming and outgoing merchandise. The Jewelry Associate may also take quality photos of products to be used in listings and posting them on Shopgoodwill.com, our E-Commerce website. Duties may include accurately describing each item, posting pictures, and adhering to daily goals and quotas. Daily interaction with customers and co-workers will require the Jewelry Associate to provide excellent customer service displaying an “Attitude of Gratitude” in order to support the mission of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that production goals are met through product identification, inventory control, product transfer, and tracking of incoming and outgoing merchandise. Performs quality control duties appropriate to achieve and maximize the highest volume of production in order to meet and/or exceed jewelry sales goals.
  • Photograph quality, high-end donated items ensuring quality photos that include sets/groupings, object design, identifiably markings, blemishes/wear n’ tear, and other product detail.
  • List products onto our E-Commerce auction system, identifying and authenticating items as necessary to ensure accurate descriptions and professional listings by checking spelling and using good grammar.
  • Follow Companies procedures and policies for handling the donations by shelving inventory to ensure that items are easily located.
  • Provide excellent Customer Service with an “Attitude of Gratitude” while answering customer’s questions and concerns over electronic means.
  • Ensure that customer questions and concerns are answered in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provide a clean and organized work area to promote a safe environment for employees and customers.
  • Cross-train in other E-Commerce areas and act as a back-up for other areas as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of high-end jewelry merchandise including but not limited to fine gold and silver jewelry pieces, gemstones, original artist creations, Native American jewelry and accessories, antique jewelry collections, vintage costume jewelry, high end wristwatch identification, etc. is preferred.
  • Photography experience (professional or personal) preferred.
  • One-year retail, auction or administrative experience is helpful.
  • Able to effectively use Internet Search Engines, Microsoft Office and other software platforms.
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff and peers through verbal and electronic means.
  • Able to effectively write and proofread item descriptions for clarity, spelling and grammar
  • Able to withstand prolonged sitting, reaching and bending up to 8 hours per day.
  • Able to work occasional overtime, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
