Drama is taught to children as part of the Brain Builders Program at Fueling Brains Academy where they learn to think imaginatively and appreciate a wide range of theatrical styles from classical to contemporary.
We strive to produce engaging thematic productions involving basic action, blending music, dance, and speaking. Our Drama activities involve an eye-catching range of props, sound, and lighting equipment together with a vibrant wardrobe.
Therefore, we’re seeking instructors to offer a school year program in Drama for kids aged 3-12.
The Drama Instructor will visit our 6 academies on a rotational basis and will conduct the Drama classes for our Early Years children throughout the week.
The incumbent will manage a classroom of 30-50 students, with the support of care staff, in hands-on workshop-style classes while offering a fun and active learning environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Drama Instructor typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
- Teach Drama and possibly other subjects as appropriate. Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for children and remain committed to professional development in educational techniques.
- Monitor teaching and learning activities in the classroom and ensure that it remains a facility conducive to high-quality education.
- To inspire children with drama/imaginative play within the academy as well as encourage imaginative exploration and confidence in the child.
- To stimulate and encourage students to a high standard of interest and achievement in the subject area.
- Provide assessment information and written reports as required.
- Encourage pupils to be involved in local competitions and events.
Experience and Personal Specification:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, characteristics, and experience :
- 1-3 Years of Drama teaching experience preferred. College graduates and High School students with relevant experience/studying relevant courses are encouraged to apply too.
- Super talented and creative and able to make learning fun for children.
- Experience working with children in a school or community setting.
- Engaging, inspiring, and able to motivate children.
- Possesses hands-on experience in Drama.
- Friendly and Funny and has the patience to work with younger children.
- The ability to be a role model for students.
Working Pattern and Compensation:
- The position requires working 3:30 pm to 4:45 pm, Monday to Friday, and rotating between our 6 Academy locations in Mission, Texas.
- We offer attractive hourly rates depending upon the experience.
