Job description

We are looking for an individual to help us with security and barbacking this summer at our legendary beach bar in Manhattan Beach, CA. Potential for cooking part time as well since we run a small grill behind the bar.

Doorman Duties

• Greet customers as they enter
• Check ID's of all patrons entering the bar
• Be constantly aware of suspicious behaviour
• Aid bartenders in restocking and closing the bar

Barback Duties

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients for bar use (limes, lemons, oranges, vegetable prep for grill, burger prep for grill)
• Aid bartenders in stocking and replenishing bar supply needs throughout a shift.
• Keep the bar clean throughout a shift and at the end of a shift.

Cook Duties

• Prep burgers for cooking each shift
• Cook burgers to proper temperatures.
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock
• Maintain proper HACCP protocols and cleanliness.
• Be sociable and friendly to customers while in the grill area.

Skills

• Proven experience as cook, barback, doorman.
• Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team
• Very good communication skills
• Excellent physical condition and stamina

Qualifications

• Must be ServSafe certified (or equivalent).
• Must have or obtain or have TIPS certification within 30 days of employment.

There will also be availability in working as a night time door man on friday and saturdays. Potential for more hours and tips if desired.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
