Terracon has an opportunity for a Dispatcher/Scheduler to join our Construction Materials Department in Des Moines, IA. Our Dispatcher/Scheduler will schedule and dispatch construction materials technicians for construction projects where the technician is testing and inspecting soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, reinforcing steel, etc throughout the Des Moines and surrounding areas. This is a fast-paced position which requires multitasking use of phone, email and text communication with client representative, contractors, project managers and technicians and other as applicable regarding the services to be provided.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule and dispatch technicians to project sites based on technician skill set, certifications, location, project and priority.
- Provide client with up-to-date information regarding the company’s ability to meet expected project timelines, client needs and project status.
- Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Reports any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience
- Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Google Maps and Excel
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to learn new software quickly
Preferred Requirements:
- Construction administrative background with understanding of building and construction terminology.
- 1-2 years dispatch experience.
- Customer Service experience/background
