Director of Serve Ministries Position Description

The purpose of Arcola Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We are guided by compassion, servanthood, and excellence in this work.

Position: Director of Serve Ministries
Hours: 700 Hours Per Year

Supervision: Reports directly to the Executive Director. The Executive Director will provide annual evaluation of performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively with adults, youth, children, volunteers and staff/ministries of the church.
• Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage, and implement programs.
• Passion for leading a range of activities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop an 18-month calendar for all Mission Activity Coordinate Serve opportunities/events.
• Recruit, manage, motivate, train, and equip leaders and volunteers for mission work locally, nationally, and internationally.
• Inspire and equip every Arcola Church household to engage monthly in meeting the physical needs of our neighbors.
• Build partnerships with schools in the Arcola Community and work with Parent Liaisons to meet the physical needs of their students.
• Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and congregants.
• Participate in Church Staff meetings, Director’s meetings, Church Council meetings and other necessary church events.
• Foster a welcoming, safe and diverse environment in line with the church’s mission
• Be a visible and engaged presence in the AUMC community.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
