You will:
  • Be responsible for every aspect of the Church’s, CCA’s, and the regional campuses’ security needs and desires, hiring and managing staff and volunteers, communicating with upper management, analyzing security risks, and developing and implementing security strategies.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of a team of security staff and volunteers (gatekeepers), resources, and processes required to develop and deliver the best safety and security solutions for our support and ministry staff and volunteers, including planning security measures for special events such as concerts, conventions, athletic events, etc.
  • Develop, in coordination with your overseer, a security infrastructure that provides optimal coverage for a multi-use facility while providing sensitivity to the spiritual environment of CCA, CCFL and events on the property and off the property.
  • Maintain physical security by monitoring building access controls, surveillance systems, alarms, locks, and other security measures to ensure proper functioning.
  • Analyze security and safety risks and in concert with your overseer provide recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Analyze security and safety structures, create policies, procedures, documents, and manuals, and keep them in line with all city and county ordinances and codes.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps, and prepare security reports as necessary.
  • Conduct investigations as needed and provide documentation and witness information.
  • Coordinate security operations with local law enforcement agencies as well as private security companies, and work as the liaison between the church and these agencies.
  • Provide security training to employees and volunteers on topics such as recognizing security risks and how to respond to emergencies.
  • Establish best practices for incident reporting, data retention, data analysis, forensic video review/retention and maintain electronic records consistent with the organization policy.
  • Actively seek creative and cost-effective solutions in the church’s overall operations by demonstrating continual fiscal responsibility in the oversight of department budget, invoices, scheduling, and equipment needs.

  • Appropriate licenses and training to carry a gun.
  • A solid understanding of information technology and application security practices, including the areas of platform architecture, application security modeling, and systems integrity.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with diverse groups including direct reports, ministry and support staff, volunteers, first responders, executive leadership team, local law enforcement, social service agencies, and community members.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and policies guiding school safety and security.
  • Completed and successfully passed a forensic psychological assessment.
  • Met the physical and mental requirements of the job, which include seeing, hearing, speaking, writing, occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, standing and walking, crouching and crawling.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or Security-related field.
  • Excellent leadership skills including: effective oral and written communication, issue resolution, negotiation, ability to motivate others, collaborate, deal with obstacles, and partner with overseer and senior management to identify/solve problems.
  • A minimum of 10 years combined or relevant experience in law enforcement or security management in school and/or church settings.
