We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Finance to assist with our investments at The Holton Company LLC, a family office that manages the assets and investments of the Holton family. As the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in managing financial planning, investment analysis, and forecasting activities for the Holton family's investments and businesses. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to drive financial growth, optimize investment decisions, and provide accurate projections for future business performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record in investment management and financial projections.

Responsibilities:

Investment Strategy and Management:

  • Develop and execute investment strategies aligned with the Holton family's financial objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Conduct comprehensive investment analysis, evaluate potential investment opportunities, and present recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor and manage investment portfolios, ensuring performance targets and risk management guidelines are met.
  • Collaborate with external investment managers, advisors, and institutions to optimize investment returns and manage relationships.

Financial Projections and Forecasting:

  • Lead the development and implementation of financial projection models for the Holton family's investments and businesses, incorporating key business drivers and market trends.
  • Create accurate financial forecasts, including revenue, expenses, cash flow, and profitability, to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management on potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and assumptions for financial projections.

Budgeting and Financial Planning:

  • Oversee the annual budgeting process for the Holton family's investments and businesses and ensure alignment with the family's strategic goals.
  • Work closely with department heads to develop budget targets, review financial performance, and provide guidance on expense management.
  • Monitor and analyze budget variances, identify areas of concern, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide financial insights and scenario analysis to support long-term financial planning and resource allocation.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to the Holton family members and senior executives.
  • Conduct financial analysis and performance metrics tracking to evaluate investment returns and measure the effectiveness of financial strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement financial dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor investment performance and financial health.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with the Holton family's investments and businesses.
  • Develop and maintain risk management frameworks and policies to safeguard the family's investments.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and economic indicators to assess potential impacts on investment strategies and portfolios.
  • Implement internal controls and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in similar role with a focus on investments and financial projections preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of investment management, financial modeling, and forecasting techniques.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and investment instruments.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg) for investment analysis and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
