East West Hospitality is a fast-growing hospitality company seeking a Director of Finance to lead our financial operations for our Vail Valley team. The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, as well as developing and implementing financial policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record of success in financial management, with a focus on hospitality and association management.

Duties Include:

  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for teammates, owners and guests. Maintain a positive "open door" communications policy for all staff members.
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, providing guidance and support in all financial matters. Work collaboratively with other department heads to ensure financial success.
  • Oversee the financial operations of the company, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership, helping to drive growth and profitability.
  • Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and comprehensive budgets and forecasts.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and make recommendations to improve and sustain financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, bankers, and investors.
  • Manage the company's cash flow and liquidity, ensuring adequate funding to meet financial obligations.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and planning
  • Expert in tools used to manage vacation rentals and homeowner systems, including property management, accounting, and reporting software.
  • Responsible for process improvement and governance for all accounting and finance departmental responsibilities.
  • Communicates all necessary information to other departments ensuring accounting related issues as addressed timely.
  • Review information from source systems for entry into financial software. Ensure that information is accurate and posted to the correct month.
  • Maintains confidential nature of all information that is not of a public nature.
  • Performance management of staff providing constructive and timely performance feedback.
  • Communicates clearly and often. Holds staff accountable. Utilizes collaborative, supportive, and transparent communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others.
  • Cultivates and maintains enduring relationships, founded in trust, with team members, peers and supervisors.
  • Supports and upholds East West Hospitality’s vision, mission and values and works to ‘do the right thing’ for all stakeholders including our owners, guests, and employees.

Location: Benchmark Road - Avon, CO

Start Date: ASAP

Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round

Pay Rate: $150,000-$170,000 DOE

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in finance, with a proven track record of success in financial management.
  • CPA, MBA preferred but not required
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret complex financial data and make recommendations.
  • Strong leadership skills, with an ability to manage and mentor a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
  • Experience working in the hospitality industry a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
