Position Overview

Manages the private event sales, execution, strategy, and reporting for Common House Charlottesville.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sales:

  • Sell and book all private events, from responding to inquiries to creating initial proposal/contracts, including rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies + receptions, corporate meetings, non-profit fundraisers, work retreats, etc.
  • Manage multiple, unique, rentable spaces, and all-inclusive services
  • Setup up phone calls and tours to get potential clients to book a private event
  • Upsell booked clients on elevated experiences or products offered
  • Maintain client relationships to encourage repeat events, or repeat clients with varying events
  • Facilitate tastings for confirmed events (weddings only)
  • Works with OpCo Function Lead on improving sales style, tactics and strategy
  • Oversees department tasks and projects to maintain efficiency and increase revenue

Execution:

  • Create detailed Banquet Event Orders for each event
  • Lead BEO meeting weekly to go over details for upcoming events
  • Check-In at large events
  • Oversee the overall execution of events
  • Identify ways to continuously improve efficiency and communication with the front of house and kitchen teams for smooth event execution

Strategy:

  • Generate event leads via community outreach and networking (local event planners, corporate companies, universities, etc.)
  • Partner with internal Brand & Communications team and our third-party PR and Digital Marketing teams to proactively market Common House as an event venue in the local and surrounding markets
  • Partner with the Food and Beverage team and Front of House team to curate custom dining experiences, private event menus, bar packages, and design floor-plans for all event types and budgets

Reporting:

  • Attend weekly All Team meetings and Month In Review meetings with prepared reports for private events
  • Track data on leads, bookings and event executions to inform pricing, decision making and marketing strategies
  • Update event pacing doc weekly

Hours: Full Time / salaried + commission
