Director of Community Engagement is responsible for managing community-based learning experiences in the David C. Frederick Honors College (Frederick). This includes collaborating with university faculty and community partners to develop, facilitate, and support community-engaged course development and implementation, as well as managing co-curricular, and experiential opportunities that help lives, communities, and systems. The Director will serve as the liaison between Frederick and the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs (ECA), Community Engagement Center Advisory Panel, Community Engaged Scholarship Forum, Scholars of Practice who host community research fellows and public policy internships. They will ensure Frederick student participation in university-wide community service and civic engagement efforts and will work to build Frederick-specific community partnerships and manage community relationships, in particular those linked to the Frederick’s unique Scholar Communities.

The Director will develop, recruit, and administer the Community Research Fellowship along with developing and managing public policy and service internship programs. They will support the development of service-learning and community-engaged research experiences in the Frederick’s global and domestic hubs in DC, Wyoming, Trinidad and Oxford. In addition to serving as the main community engagement resource for all Frederick students, faculty fellows, and staff, the Director will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive evaluation of all community-engaged efforts of Frederick. Additionally, the Director of Community Engagement will exhibit a commitment to foster a diverse and inclusive community and a culture of thoughtful, open, and respectful discourse and debate; be an agent of positive community change; make and communicate difficult decisions effectively.

Master's degree and five years' experience required.
