The Region HR Director role is based in Indianapolis, IN and is responsible for Human Resources for a $1+ Billion, 1,450 employee, and 55 location business unit. The role reports directly to the Region President with a dotted line reporting relationship to Heidelberg Materials VP Human Resources.

What you’ll do

  • HR Business Leader

o Closely partner with the Region President and the Region leadership team to achieve short and long-term business plans and improve operational performance

  • Talent Leader

o Improve the depth and readiness of successors for key operations roles

o Help us attract and hire the best talent in the market

o Identify, mentor and train future Profit & Loss leaders

o Improve overall leadership capability and team effectiveness

o Influence the design and implementation of Corporate Talent programs and processes

  • HR Operations Leader

o Continuously improve employee engagement and team performance

o Optimize annual target setting and performance feedback

o Conduct rigorous salary and hourly workforce planning to ensure the continuity of our operations

o Lead employee relations to continue to foster a positive and productive work environment, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance

o Collaborate with Environmental, Safety, and Health leaders to keep safety and wellness our top priority

o Collaborate with Corporate HR Shared Services to standardize and centralize transactions

What we’re looking for

  • 7 plus years of broad Human Resources leadership experience
  • Multi-unit experience essential
  • Ability and flexibility to travel up to 30%.
  • 4 years leading an HR team, preferably some of whom are remote
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College
