Positions in this function is responsible for specific services, functions, and solutions available internally or as a supporting element of a product, typically not sold stand-alone externally. Positions in this function play a critical role in ability to deliver products to market and/or manage internal business functions. Capability management requires alignment to business and/or product strategy, effective design and development, and ongoing management of capability portfolio across the full lifecycle to ensure business-specific or cross-enterprise impact. Market insights are leveraged to monitor trends and external landscape, and to inform capability strategies and customer use case scenarios. Positions in this function are accountable for delivering sustainable, financially sound solutions that solve a specific problem and enable successful external product delivery and/or internal business function performance, while driving adoption with internal business clients and define future capability direction that supports business strategy and new opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Understands and informs enterprise level and business level strategies that make up target audience for capability
• Demonstrates understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) for capability, and how related decisions and actions will impact them
• Applies understanding of the market and internal business priorities and strategies to develop an enterprise-wide vision and related delivery plan
• Translating vision from the Capability Director, business leaders, and stakeholders into user stories with defined and measurable acceptance
• Effectively navigates, builds and cultivates cross-functional, cross-enterprise relationships with internal stakeholders; partners with them to gain support, buy-in and to enable action and delivery of functions, services, and solutions
• Demonstrates knowledge of technology trends and concepts in capability strategy and roadmaps; effectively translates technical opportunities to new or existing business and capability needs
• Effective ongoing management of capabilities including customer management and communications, prioritization of new requests, operations activities, and continuous improvement enhancements
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or 8+ years of equivalent experience
• 3+ years of Project Management, Business Analyst or Capability Management experience or comparable experience driving initiatives involving process as an accountable owner
• 2+ years of experience working with technology delivery teams
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience preparing and presenting to a variety of audiences at all levels of the organization
• Experienced with Agile project methodology & change management
• Healthcare Industry experience
• MS Office experience
• Client-facing experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
