Providence Life Services is seeking a Full-Time Dietary Director. We are seeking candidates who share our vision & commitment for enhancing the lives of our clients.
The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the overall operations of the Food Service Department. Responsibilities include assuming administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of supervising the Dining Services at our community and ensure that all services and programs are in compliance with federal, state &/or local regulations, laws & statutes. The Dietary Director is responsible for creating and maintaining an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest by providing our clients with a nutritious, restaurant style dining experience in a safe, clean, and comfortable atmosphere. This is a Monday through Friday schedule with the Occasional Saturday & Sundays as Manager on Duty and based on business needs in the Dining Services Department.
- Provides clients with high quality, nutritious meals and responsive service and meets their needs while meeting regulatory requirements.
- Ensures consistent product quality and portion sizes including the development of cycle menus to meet regulatory requirements for clients.
- Implements systems and controls to achieve financial performance as established by the departmental business plan and is aware of and addresses any changes in the financial climate that may affect the budget. Controls food, labor, and nonfood costs.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates department goals and objectives.
- Ensures proper staffing levels for department. Makes hiring and employee coaching/discipline decisions. Develops, manages, trains, and evaluates employees, managers, and supervisors.
- Ensures compliance with Human Resource policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all services and programs are in compliance with federal, state and/or local regulations, laws and statues.
- Maintains productive and positive relationships with all members of the continuum of care interdisciplinary and leadership teams.
- Ensures a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Maintains the Providence Life Services mission and vision statement.
- Shows professional knowledge, proficiency and initiative in achieving goals and meeting standards.
- 3-5 years of progressive restaurant or food service management experience preferred.
- College Degree in Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts, Dietetics or Nutrition preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, residents, vendors & suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks successfully.
- Knowledge or skills in culinary arts, purchasing, sanitation, business management and health care.
- SERV-Safe certification.
- Certificates as required by federal, state or local regulations.
- Knowledge of and effective use of Microsoft computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
