Summary:
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to assist with day-to-day operations of our distributed infrastructure, review daily commits by our development teams, participate in or lead new projects, including but not limited to, developing and deploying new applications, deploying updates and improvements to existing applications, and seeking or researching replacements for legacy internal applications. This role will be involved with self-hosted infrastructure as well as commercial cloud offerings from AWS, Google, and Microsoft.
Key Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
- Technical acumen to identify and replace manual tasks and procedures with automation using scripts and/or applications
- A self-starter is a must. The ideal candidate will take it upon themselves to take a deep dive into existing applications to find improvements. This is a never-changing requirement.
- Compliance experience such as PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, is a plus
- Experience handling large production applications and experience with performance tuning.
- Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer and team-oriented work environment.
- Strong and proven experience designing, delivering, and managing service level agreements and performance metrics.
- Participate in development reviews to understand new or modified features and functions as well as impact to end users, admins, and user guides.
- The ideal candidate will be interfacing with differing levels of management and personnel, including C-level individuals, to identify, architect, and implement custom applications or integrations, requiring a high level of professionalism and awareness
- Plan and schedule production updates
- A general drive to improve our products and services for our Customers in an effort generate/protect revenue and lower operating costs.
- Work with Project Managers on new Customer installations
- Serve as an escalation to assist other team members with resolving reported issues or problems within our applications or infrastructure.
- Participate Customer Concierge queue as a level 3 to assist with call overflow and escalations
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule providing after-hour support to Customers
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
- Full understanding of distributed applications and infrastructures, including web, database, middleware, APIs, and microservices
- 3 years of experience overseeing and migrating self-hosted applications and services to commercial cloud providers
- Deep experience as a full stack developer and architect responsible for every part of the project including requirements gathering, project management, system architecture, infrastructure setup, coding, API integration, documenting, and testing.
- 5 years of experience as a software engineer or developer in one or more of the following: JAVA, Angular, NodeJS, LUA, and/or PHP
- Solid knowledge of Linux and general infrastructure/server configuration and administration
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Linux Containers, Git, Chef, CloudFormation, etc.
- Experience with Monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zenoss, ELK, CloudWatch, etc.
- Expert level understanding of VOIP, including SIP, preferably with known open-source technologies including SBC/B2BUA, Transcoding/Media Servers, and Routing Servers
