Capo Canyon Recovery is looking to hire nurses (RN or LVN) to join our growing team. Capo Canyon Recovery is a behavioral healthcare company offering safe, compassionate and clinically focused care for those struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health challenges. We are looking for nursing support at our private, boutique 5-bed detox and residential facility in Mission Viejo, CA. We are currently looking to hire for a 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM 12-hour shift.
Duties:
- Conduct nursing assessments
- Documentation regarding the client’s presentation, mood, symptoms, including
- withdrawal scores (COWS, CIWA-Ar, CIWA-B)
- Provide clients support, compassion, and medication education
- Observe clients self-administer medication
- Complete medication count between shifts
- Check client health status and vitals according to orders
- Conduct occasional UA drug screen collection and breathalyzer tests
- Provide leadership and assistance to detox support staff
- Attend mandatory staff meetings
- Maintain cleanliness of facility overnight.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active CA LVN license or RN license
- Must maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification
- TB testing required before hire
- Experience in detox, addiction, and/or behavioral health preferred
- Valid driver’s license and personal car insurance
- Must meet eligibility for insurability by company vehicle fleet policy
- Must be physically and mentally able to assist in an emergency situation
- Punctuality and dependability
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication in English
- Computer literacy and proficiency in typing is required
- Understanding and/or training in cultural diversity issues with clients
- Should be detailed oriented with the ability to timely and efficient
- Ability to lift at least 20lbs
