Our client in Annapolis, MD is seeking an experienced designer for commercial office furniture for a full-time direct-hire position. The commercial Designer will assist the Project Team (consisting of Sales Staff, Project Managers, Customer Service Representatives, and Installers)In this role the Designer will work with clients on education, hospitality, government, and healthcare projects. The Designer will consult with clients to develop layouts, space planning, specifications, and pricing for their office furniture needs.

Must be able to travel, by car and/or walking, throughout assigned territory to meet with clients as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Customer Service Representatives, Sales Staff, Installers, and Project Managers to ensure constant communication and smooth delivery of products for various clients.
• Investigate and resolve customer issues related to design
• Will have involvement in the conceptual development of a furniture project
• Design, organization, schedule, and implementation. and be able to keep track of furniture orders by learning our furniture project management software (Team Design).
• Display or demonstrate merchandise, using samples or catalog, to develop client’s product knowledge.
• Assist sales staff with putting together furniture quotes.
• Assist sales staff with responding to Requests For Proposals (RFP) and client proposals
• Attend weekly/monthly staff or sales meetings.
• Manage multiple projects
• Develop and maintain outstanding working relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors’ Degree, BS or BA, from a four-year college, is strongly preferred
• Approximately 2-5 years of design experience in the commercial furniture industry
• Experience with Team Design is a plus
• Experience with AutoCAD software (or equivalent CAD software) is required
• Experience with 20-20 Giza Studio, 20-20 Worksheet and/or 20-20 Cap Studio is strongly preferred
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Package i.e.: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project (or equivalent software) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
